Mx.Red (pronounced misread) is the person you have been waiting to meet. They are here to transport you to a world where the energetic body can be seen to the naked eye; to open a portal of movement from another dimension.
In Mx.Red, artist Jonathan Homsey brings an experience of dance, expression and intimacy beyond gender lines. Mx.Red has two offerings, a film starring Amber McCartney and a live performance on the opening night of the festival. Set to the music of Joyce Wrice, Mx.Red is a proposal of a hypothetical queer (not so distant) future.
Mx.Red was commissioned by Festival of Live Art 2018 at Footscray Community Arts Centre. The portions in this festival were funded by Creative Victoria and the American Australian Association. Music by Joyce Wrice and Mindesgn with permission from the artists.
