EXPERIMENTAL & COMMUNITY FOCUSSED

Presented by Centre for Projection Art, Gertrude Street Projection Festival is a not-for-profit, contemporary arts festival that has provided sustainable benefits to Australia’s artists since 2008 (that's 13 festivals so far!). Focusing on contemporary projection, new media, and interactive digital art, we provide a platform for artists to realise their full, creative and professional potential on one of Melbourne's oldest streets. GSPF has evolved with a community focus in mind; working with local businesses, fellow arts organisations, and the residents of the Atherton Gardens. GSPF unites all people and age groups from the City of Yarra, and wider Naarm (Melbourne) to experience captivating projection art. Each winter Gertrude Street’s walls and buildings come alive featuring projections, live events and performances, inviting visitors to delight in contemporary public art. Each Festival has a unique curatorial theme and exhibits projection and contemporary new media art in public, accessible spaces.
