This winter, Gertrude Street Projection Festival once more takes up residence in Melbourne’s inner north. As Australia’s longest-running projection festival we have a reputation for discovering artists, uncovering places, exploring ideas and bringing together locals and visitors by night to experience playful, thoughtful and inspiring new media work.

We fast forward 500 years to 2520, with a curatorial theme that asks artists to speculate a futurist vision beyond the now. What will our future world/s look like? What will we consider relevant when looking at race, gender, sexuality, age, ability, class and nationality in 500 years? What new challenges/advancements can we look forward to, and finally, how do we take our past knowledge with us to the future?
